Who can apply for a grant?

Grant applications can be submitted by nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.

Are there grant restrictions?

Grant requests can be submitted for up to $100,000.00.

BFGF does not directly fund religious or political organizations. However, we may consider programs sponsored by religious organizations if they align with our focus areas.

BFGF focus areas include: 
Workforce & community development
Housing accessibility & affordability
Economic mobility
Small business growth

We are not accepting applications outside of the United States.

All applicants must provide the W-9 Form as well as their Employee Identification Number.

Organizations are limited to one application per calendar year for a grant, donation, or sponsorship.

What are the steps of a grant application?

Applicants will be guided through the following:
Create a profile for your organization on the BFGF portal.
Complete the Eligibility Assessment. 
This is to ensure your organization and request align with our mission. 
If approved, complete the Pre-Application Form. 
This is a snapshot of your organization and a brief overview of your grant request. 
If approved, your organization will be invited to complete the Grant Application. 
This is a detailed focus on your grant request. The expectation is an impressive SMART goals analysis.

How do I submit a grant application?

All grant applications must be submitted through the BFGF portal.

We do not accept unsolicited grant proposals or requests for sponsorship or donations by mail, email, or phone.

Submitting via Google Chrome web browser on a computer is recommended. 
         
Be careful when sharing sensitive information. Please be advised that BFGF will never request personal, organizational, or financial information via text or SMS.

What is the grant application timeline?

Pre-Application Forms are due by Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST.

Those approved will be invited to complete the full Grant Application.

BFGF Grant recipients will be announced in May 2026.

Applicants will receive notifications via email, and alerts will be posted to their portal dashboard.

Do you support donations and sponsorships?

Yes. Donation and sponsorship requests can be submitted on the BFGF portal for up to $10,000.00.
