OUR IMPACT NOW.

Howard University

Howard University's Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts Musical Theatre was a 2024 grant recipient of the Business for Good Foundation. The grant - awarded to the musical theatre's New Works Iniative - allowed for a professional creative team from New York City, providing student with the opportunity to work, create, learn, engage, and collaborate with artists who serve as a reflection and innovators within their fields of expertise. The piece produced with student and professional involvement was called "Sonnets and Soul."

Due to the nature of the new work, Sonnets and Soul attracted the attention of top casting offices in New York City. Over the run of the show, the college was able to invite to campus three of the top casting directors in New York City to do masterclasses with our students during the day and see their performance of Sonnets and Soul in the evening, once again providing connections into the professional world.
