CAPTAIN Community Human Services
CAPTAIN Community Human Services is a social impact organization dedicated to lifting people up, addressing pressing social issues, and building brighter futures for local individuals and families. Through essential community programs and organizational partnerships, CAPTAIN CHS works to empower neighbors and strengthen the regional support systems they rely on every day.
The Business for Good Foundation provided a $20,000 grant and in-kind resources to back CAPTAIN CHS’s workforce initiative, The Innovation Collaborative. Grounded in BFGF’s strategic commitment to workforce development, the grant is designed to cultivate bold, knowledgeable sector leaders and address leadership retention in Saratoga County, where nonprofit staff account for roughly 14.6% of the workforce.
CAPTAIN CHS is using this partnership to match emerging leaders from local agencies—such as Wellspring and Pitney Meadows Community Farm—with seasoned mentors and consultants across philanthropy, strategic planning, and workforce development. By offering a Mentoring Program, a Grant Development Collaborative, and a Collaborative Innovation Accelerator, the organization is curbing sector burnout and building sustainable executive capacity to protect the community’s social impact safety net.
